Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has declared a tough stance against informants aiding bandits, warning they will face dire consequences, including possible death sentences.

He disclosed this on Saturday during a condolence visit to Zogirma village, following the tragic killing of three police officers by unidentified gunmen at their duty post.

Issuing a stern warning, Governor Idris said, “Informants who betray their communities for personal gain must either repent or face the full wrath of the law.

“There will be no hiding place for them in Kebbi.

“We will deal with them decisively and mercilessly.”

He added that the state government is already working on legislation that would sentence informants to death, as part of efforts to deter collaboration with criminal elements.

The governor emphasized that his administration will not tolerate actions that endanger citizens’ lives and threaten peace.

He also revealed plans to request more security personnel to be deployed to the affected area to enhance the protection of lives and property.

Bunza Local Government Chairman, Zayyanu Shehu, thanked the governor for the visit and urged continued support. He described the attack as a test of faith and encouraged residents to trust in God.

The District Head of Bunza, Tijjani Mohammed, also expressed gratitude to the governor for his consistent support and appealed for increased security presence in the area.
