Kebbi State First Lady, Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, has donated five thousand naira to 550 orphans in Argungu Emirate.
In addition, she donated one million naira to a non-governmental organization, Mar’atu Salihah, which caters to the welfare of orphans and the less privileged in society.
Zainab Nasare attended a free feeding program arranged by the organization for orphans at the Palace of the Emir of Argungu on Wednesday.
The First Lady spoke about the necessity for well-to-do and wealthy individuals in the society to provide succour and means of livelihood to orphans as mandated by the Noble Prophet Muhammad, (SAW,) who was also an orphan.
“God’s extensive reward awaits anyone in the Hereafter who caters for orphans in this world”, Nasare preached.
She reaffirmed the commitment of the incumbent administration to the improvement of the quality of life of orphans, the needy, and the less privileged in society.
Zainab Nasare thanked the Emir of Argungu for conferring the traditional title of ‘Giwar Matan Kabi’, on her person during her visit to Argungu last year, saying the title has the significance of popularity which she is always identified with wherever she goes.
The Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Sama’ila Muhammadu Mera, thanked the First Lady for her enormous philanthropic gesture to all people in KebbI state.
He was full of gratitude to the First Lady for her physical presence at the free feeding program for orphans conducted by Mar’atu Salihah in his Palace.
The monarch offered prayers for the success of the administration of her husband, Governor Nasir Idris.
The Coordinator of NASARA Foundation, AbdulRasheed Bala, on behalf of the First Lady, announced the donation of one million Naira to the coffers of Mar’atu Salihah and five thousand naira each to the 550 orphans who benefited from the free feeding program.
