Kano State Commissioner for Finance, Dr. Isma’ila Aliyu Danmarya, says the ministry is committed to equipping its workforce with the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties efficiently and effectively.

Speaking on Thursday at the opening of a three-day Organizational Capacity Assessment for management staff in Zaria, Kaduna State, Dr. Danmarya described the exercise as a “strategic tool” for the ministry’s growth and effectiveness.

The training is being organized in collaboration with the Partnership for Agile Governance and Climate Engagement (PACE) Project.

“This assessment is not merely a procedural requirement; it is a strategic way for the continued growth and effectiveness of our ministry,” he said.

The commissioner explained that the program aims to identify strengths, pinpoint gaps, and develop a targeted institutional development plan.

He stressed that the findings would not be used to judge individuals but to strengthen the ministry’s collective capabilities in fiscal management, revenue generation, and economic development.

Dr. Danmarya added that follow-up training programs would be tailored to the ministry’s specific needs, ensuring they are practical, relevant, and impactful.

He thanked PACE for its technical expertise and capacity-building support, noting that the partnership has been vital to the ministry’s institutional growth.

He also commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his commitment to accountability, transparency, and good governance, urging participants to ensure the ministry continues to play a leading role in Kano’s economic prosperity.

On his part, PACE Team Lead, Auwalu Hamza, pledged continued support to help the state government achieve its development goals.
