Plateau State has been selected to host the prestigious Miss Tourism Africa and Mister Tourism Africa International 2025, with Jos, the state capital, serving as the official host city for the fourth edition of the continental event.

Organizers of the pageant announced that 50 delegates from across Africa will participate in the grand finale, with 30 female contestants competing for the Miss Tourism Africa crown and 20 male contestants vying for the Mister Tourism Africa International title.

The 2025 edition has been fully endorsed by Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, through the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Hospitality, and is recognized as a key project in the state’s cultural and tourism development agenda.

“Jos is Africa’s Home of Peace and Tourism,” said Dr. Raymond Okonkwo, Patron of Miss Tourism Africa.

“This event is not only a celebration of beauty and culture but also an opportunity to showcase Plateau’s hidden tourism gems while empowering young Africans through talent, trade, and tourism.”

Ambassador Seth Santiago Roberts, Founder and President of the organization, emphasized that the choice of Jos was intentional.

“Our mission is to use pageantry to promote real tourism growth across Africa. Jos offers the perfect backdrop with its stunning landscapes, cultural richness, and tranquil environment,” he said.

The event is expected to boost Plateau State’s tourism profile and provide a platform for cultural exchange, economic opportunities, and youth empowerment across the continent.
