The Jigawa State House of Assembly Committee on Local Government has commended the Chairman of Malam Madori Local Government, Hon. Salisu Sani Garun-Gabas, for his commitment to executing capital projects despite limited monthly allocations.
The commendation came during a familiarization and working visit by the committee, led by its chairman and member representing Gwiwa constituency, Hon. Aminu Zakari.
Zakari praised Hon. Garun-Gabas as the first council chairman to dedicate over 51 percent of his allocation to capital projects, underscoring his commitment to community development.
Projects executed under his administration include the renovation of a health post, hospital ward, and women’s centre, as well as the conversion of motorized water stations to solar-powered systems.
The committee chairman, accompanied by Hon. Ibrahim Hashim Kanya (Kanya Babba constituency), Hon. Abubakar Maitasamu (Suletankarkar constituency), and Hon. Hamza Adamu Babayaro (Malam Madori constituency), commended the council’s focus on initiatives that directly benefit the people.
In his response, Hon. Garun-Gabas thanked the committee for its guidance, stressing that constructive oversight helps address gaps and improve governance.
He assured that efforts are underway to boost internally generated revenue to enable the execution of more developmental projects across Malam Madori and surrounding communities.
