Stallion Times

Fireboy’s ‘Hell And Back’ Mercedes Benz challenge may have been the most costly trend in Afrobeats to date.
On August 29, 2024, Fireboy DML’s fourth album, “Adedamola,” was formally released. ‘Adedamola,’ which is called after Fireboy’s first name, follows his third album ‘Playboy’ and offers a more profound, contemplative approach to artistic expression.
The lead singles “Yawa” and “Obaa Sima,” which were commercially successful, came before the album. The album is enhanced by guest appearances by Grammy-winning American singer Jon Batiste, Afrobeats artists Lojay and Spinall, and Nigerian music legends Lagbaja and Seun Kuti.
Fireboy sets out on a quest of self-discovery with his fourth self-titled body of work, creating music that reflects his feelings and provides the familiarity that won him listeners’ love and respect.

More than 14 tracks, the 28-year-old crafts singles that capture his yearning for romantic love and his struggles in this pursuit. He shares the interminable challenges fame brings while making party-starting cuts to propel his commercial push.

The song ‘Hell and Back,’ which has gone viral, is the most notable feature of “Adedamola.” Social media is dominated by the Mercedes Challenge, in which fans sing along to this song inside a Mercedes-Benz.

Mercedes owners are now eagerly following the trend, sharing their experiences online and grooving to the poignant lyrics, which adds an enjoyable element to the popular Afrobeats song.

Thousands of videos have been posted on social media about the challenge thus far, showing people disregarding the Benz requirement and using their own cars instead.
