Group Commends Governor Yusuf’s ₦6bn Approval for Dansoshiya Dam Project

The DAMS IN KANO 44 LGAs Platform has commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for approving ₦6 billion for the construction of a dam and irrigation channels in Dansoshiya Ward, Kiru Local Government Area.

Dams in Kano 44 LGAs is a grassroots advocacy group dedicated to promoting sustainable water infrastructure and agricultural development across the state.

In a statement on Wednesday by Comrade Kabiru Hassan, the group praised the Governor’s forward-thinking leadership.

He said the project is set to transform the community by providing a reliable water supply, enhancing agricultural productivity, and driving economic development.

“This monumental initiative underscores Governor Yusuf’s strong commitment to infrastructure development and the well-being of the people of Kano State.

“The dam will not only tackle water scarcity but also support farmers, generate employment, and strengthen food security,” the statement read.

The group also called for the establishment of a robust monitoring framework to ensure the project is executed transparently and on schedule.

“We appreciate the governor’s vision and urge the adoption of a rigorous tracking system to ensure accountability, efficiency, and compliance with budgetary and timeline expectations.”

Expressing full confidence in Governor Yusuf’s leadership, the platform stated that the project will be delivered to the highest standards, bringing long-term benefits to both Dansoshiya Ward and the wider Kano community.

The DAMS IN KANO 44 LGAs Platform prayed for the Governor’s continued success and thanked him for his unwavering dedication to the state’s progress.
