Kano State Government, under the able leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, in line with the administration’s continued commitment to meeting the yearnings and aspirations of its people, has approved the sum of One Hundred and Fifty-One Million, Eight Hundred and Sixty-Three Thousand, Eight Hundred and Ninety-Five Naira, Ninety-Seven Kobo (₦151,863,895.97) for the reconstruction of a mosque that was burnt down by an arsonist at Tiga Gadan in Gezawa Local Government Area in the early hours of May 16th, 2024.

The building will also include an Islamiyya school with an office block, the renovation of a block of six toilet facilities, and the provision of a motorised solar-powered borehole with an overhead tank.

The approval for the reconstruction of the mosque followed the fulfillment of a pledge made by the Governor when he visited the scene of the incident in Gezawa, where he promised to rebuild the mosque.

Residents of the area expressed their joy upon receiving the good news, which they described as a clear demonstration of responsibility-seeing a leader fulfill his promise to the people. “This action is indeed honourable. It means more than anything,” some residents asserted.

While expressing their appreciation for this show of dignity and magnanimity, which once again proves him to be a true leader, as he is widely known and addressed, the Kano State Government calls on the good people of Tiga Gadan in Gezawa Local Government Area to reciprocate this gesture by providing the necessary support to ensure the successful completion of the project and by safeguarding the new structures.
