Emir of Dutse Appointed Amirul Hajj for Jigawa’s 2026 Pilgrimage

Governor Malam Umar A. Namadi of Jigawa State has approved the appointment of His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr) Hamim Muhammad Nuhu Sanusi, the Emir of Dutse, as the Amirul Hajj and leader of the government delegation for the 2026 Hajj exercise.

Malam Bala Ibrahim, the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, announced in a statement signed on Friday.

In addition to the Emir of Dutse, the Governor also approved the appointment of other members of the Amirul Hajj team, including Malam Umaru Nasarawa, Kabiru Ali (Kachallan Dutse), a representative of the Emir of Gumel, and Imam Nura Salisu Abubakar, Chief Imam of Kazaure Central Mosque.

The statement highlighted that the appointments were in recognition of the individuals’ distinguished records of hard work, commitment, patriotism, trustworthiness, and piety.

While congratulating the new appointees, the SSG urged them to uphold these qualities as they carry out their responsibilities, reflecting the confidence placed in them by the Government and people of Jigawa State.

The Amirul Hajj team is expected to collaborate closely with the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board, as well as relevant state, federal, and international agencies, to ensure efficient and effective Hajj operations.

All appointments are effective immediately.
