Dingyadi Resigns As Spokesperson To PDP National Chairman

The spokesperson to the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Yusuf Dingyadi, has on Saturday resigned from his position.

Dingyadi disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen Saturday in Sokoto.

He served as a Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Media and Communications to the PDP National Chairman and was consistent and a trusted source of factual information on even developments within the PFP for over three years.

In a letter dated June 25, 2025, and addressed to the Acting National Chairman, Ambassador Iliya Damagum, Dingyadi expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve on that capacity.

“While I appreciate the support and prayers of the PDP family during my stay in this office, I remain appreciative of all the contributions given to me to ensure the success of my assignment,” the statement read in part.

However Dingyadi did not disclose the reasons behind his resignation from his former position.

He was a prominent figure in defending and clarifying issues related to the PDP’s internal crisis, as well as promoting unity and cohesion within the party.

Dingyadi frequently featured on radio, television, and in print media speaking on matters concerning the PDP’s policies, campaigns, and political engagements.

He played an active role in PDP campaigns during the Obasanjo/Atiku era and previously served under the late Minister of Communications, Arzika Tambuwal.

He was part of the media teams for several political movements, including the late Shehu Musa Yar’Adua’s group, the People’s Front (PF), the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the Democratic People’s Party (DPP) under Attahiru Bafarawa, and Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal’s administration.

He was part of presidential campaigns of Obasanjo/Atiku (1999 and 2003), Goodluck Jonathan/Namadi Sambo (2011), and Atiku Abubakar/Ifeanyi Okowa (2023).

He was s seasoned journalist who worked as Reporter/Nasiha, BBC Hausa, and lots of media organizations within and outside country over two decades.
