A Higher Court in Dutse Capital Jigawa state has granted leave to withdraw the suit filed against the chairman of All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAAN) Jigawa chapter, Engr. Auwal Garba Ibrahim, and 10 others.
Suit No: JDU/001/2023 was filled before the court by Idiris Ya’u Maiunguwa (Jaga) and 7 others challenging the eligibility of the election of engr Auwal Garba and 10 other executive members of the association
However, the complaints, Alhaji Idris prays the court to declare him as the substantial chairman of the association along with his other executive members.
In the suit Maiunguwa claimed that their tenure had not elapsed when the new executive was elected also confirmed that his tenure will end in August 2024 as at the time of filing the suit.
As the case continued, the complainant also filed another suit requesting to withdraw the case.
Delivering his judgement on the matter the presiding Judge of the court Justice M.B Adamu said, upon reading the motion filed on the request to withdraw the case and also listen to the counsel of both complainant and dependants, the court has granted the leave for withdrawal.
“The court has struck out the case and no order was made to use any of the involved parties.”
According to the counsel to the dependants, Barrister Baffa Alhassan by striking out the case, the court has validated the election of Eng Auwal Garba and other executives as substantial and legitimate executive leaders of the AFAAN Jigawa state chapter.
