Kano State Upper Sharia Court has cleared and discharged Hon. Auwalu Dalladi Sankara from alleged illicit affairs with a married woman.
Hon. Auwalu Sankara was in the last October dragged before the Sharia court after being arrested by Kano state Hisba in his house upon receiving a complaint from one Nasiru Buba Jalam for an uncomfortable relationship between his wife and the accused person.
Nasiru Buba Jalam filed a case against his wife Taslim Baba Nabegu and Hon Auwalu Sankara on alleged illicit affairs between the two defendants.
Earlier during the presentation of the case last October, the presiding Judge Justice Ibrahim Sarki Yola directed the Inspector General of police to investigate the case and submit the report to the court.
Delivering his judgement during the court proceedings on Monday 18th November the presiding Judge, Justice Ibrahim Sarki Yola, said, based on the police report the complainant failed to provide any evidence to prove the allegation he filed before the court.
“This case field against Taslim Baba Nabegu and Auwalu Dalladi Sankara lacks merits and any reliable evidence for the court to proceed it, therefore the case is hereby strikeout, the first and Second defendants are also discharged ” the judge declared
Reacting after the court judgement, the counsel to the first dependent Taslim Baba Nabegu (the wife of the complainant) Barrister Rabiu Shuaibu Abdullahi said they are satisfied with the court judgement.
Similarly, the counsel to the second dependent Barista Saddam Suleiman Shehu said, the outcome of the court judgement has proved Hon. Auwal Dalladi Sankara as innocent of all the allegations labeled against him.
“We are studying the outcome of the judgement, and the suspected political witch-hunting around it for further action,” the defendant’s counsel stated.
The embattled Jigawa state Commissioner for special duties was suspended from his office to allow the court to take its cause in the matter without any interference.
