The Concerned Members of the Kano Civil Society Forum (CM-KCSF) warmly commends Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and the State Executive Council for approving the construction of a Model Primary Health Centre in Rimin Zakara Quarters, Ungoggo Local Government Area.

Abba Bello Ahmad, in a statement on behalf of the CM-KCSF on Friday, said the 25th State Executive Council meeting approved ₦284,122,002.61 for the project.

According to the statement, CM-KCSF recognizes the significant investment in primary healthcare as a crucial step towards improving the well-being of the Rimin Zakara community and its environs.

“Access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right, and this initiative demonstrates the government’s commitment to prioritizing the health needs of its citizens.

“We particularly appreciate the focus on primary healthcare, which forms the bedrock of a strong and resilient health system.

“This investment will not only improve access to essential medical services but also contribute to preventive care and overall community health outcomes.”

The statement further noted that the project aligns with the KCSF’s core mission of promoting citizen-centered development and advocating for improved access to essential services.

“We believe that strong primary healthcare is vital for achieving sustainable development goals and ensuring that all citizens have the opportunity to live healthy and productive lives.

“We acknowledge the Governor’s responsiveness to the needs of the Rimin Zakara community, prioritizing this essential service—primary healthcare—as a critical first step.”

The statement added “While we applaud this commendable initiative, CM-KCSF recognizes that project approval is just the first step.  The timely and efficient implementation of this project is equally crucial.

“As a third-sector organization committed to accountability and transparency, CM-KCSF will play its part in ensuring the successful realization of this noble project.

“We will actively monitor the project’s progress, from construction to equipping and staffing the facility, and engage constructively with relevant government agencies to address any potential challenges.

“We will also work to empower the Rimin Zakara community to actively participate in the project’s oversight, ensuring that their voices are heard and their needs are met.

“We believe that community ownership and participation are essential for the sustainability and success of any development project.

“We urge other well-meaning individuals and organizations to support this laudable effort and contribute to the development of a robust and accessible healthcare system for all.”

The CM-KCSF then reiterated its commitment to collaborating with the State Government and all stakeholders to improve the lives of the people of Kano State.
