Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has unveiled a N320.811 billion budget for the 2025 fiscal year.
The budget, presented to the state assembly, aims to drive development and improve the lives of Yobe residents.
In a statement on Thursday, the Director General of Press and Media Affairs, to the governor, Mamman Mohammad, said a significant portion of the budget, 55.1% or N176.964 billion, has been allocated to capital expenditure.
According to the statement, the allocation will focus on key sectors such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, and women and youth empowerment.
The remaining 44.9% (N144.036 billion) is earmarked for recurrent expenditure, which covers salaries, wages, and other operational costs.
In the statement, Governor Buni emphasized the government’s commitment to delivering quality education and healthcare services.
The budget prioritizes investments in schools, hospitals, and other essential infrastructure to improve the overall well-being of the state’s population.
Additionally, the government plans to implement programs aimed at empowering women and youth, creating job opportunities, and fostering economic growth.
