Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has congratulated the State Pilgrims Welfare Board for emerging as the best State in discipline and conduct at the National Hajj Commission (NAHCON) 2026 Hajj review and reform summit.
In a congratulatory message through his Chief Press Secretary Bologi Ibrahim, the farmer governor described the feat attained as highly commendable and inspiring.
Farmer governor Bago commended the efforts of the Executive Secretary of the Niger State Pilgrims’ Welfare Board, Sheikh Muhammad Awwal Aliyu and his entire team for their dedication and commitment to service delivery.
He said, the honour from NAHCON is a clear indication of the Board’s resilience and hard work towards ensuring the successful operation and hitch free Hajj exercise for all pilgrims from Niger State.
The farmer governor reiterates that his administration will continue to work closely with the State’s Pilgrim Board and give it all the necessary support needed to perform optimally.
Farmer Umaru Bago also acknowledged the exceptional conduct of pilgrims from the State whose behaviours while at the Holy land contributed immensely to the achievement and success recorded by the State and described them as worthy ambassadors .
The award presented to the Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board at the NAHCON Stakeholders’ Summit on the 2026 Hajj Review and Reform Agenda is in recognition of the Board’s adherence to operational guidelines, exemplary conduct of its pilgrims and effective welfare management.
The State’s Pilgrims Welfare Board was also acknowledged for its flawless cooperation with NAHCON, Saudi Arabian authorities, and other partner agencies throughout the 2026 Hajj exercise.
