Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has endorsed the resolutions of the State House of Assembly, ordering the suspension of three senior public officials.
According to a statement on Wednesday by the Governor’s spokesperson, Tersoo Kula, it is in line with the Assembly’s directives that Alia announced the suspension of the Executive Chairman of Otukpo Local Government Area, Mr. Maxwell Ogiri, for one month.
Other suspended officials are the suspension of the Chairperson of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Mrs. Grace Adagba, and the suspension of the Executive Secretary of the Benue State Lottery Commission, Mr. Michael Uper.
All three top government officials are suspended for one month.
The Governor reaffirmed his commitment to due process, transparency, and good governance, commending the lawmakers for exercising their constitutional duties.
He urged all affected institutions to ensure uninterrupted service delivery during the suspension period, while calling on citizens to continue supporting government efforts to build a state that works for everyone.
