The Kano State House of Assembly has passed four executive bills aimed at establishing health institutions across the state to expand educational opportunities and strengthen healthcare delivery.

The bills were passed during plenary presided over by the Speaker, Jibril Isma’il Falgore.

The proposed institutions include the Kano State College of Health Sciences and Technology in Rogo and Bebeji, as well as other health-related institutions outlined in the bills.

Speaking to journalists after the plenary, Falgore said the establishment of the College of Health Sciences and Technology in Rogo would expand access to education, stimulate economic activities, create employment opportunities and improve healthcare delivery.

The Speaker, who represents Rogo Constituency, urged residents of the area and neighbouring states, including Katsina and Kaduna, to take advantage of the institution to promote educational advancement and sustainable development.

In a related development, the Assembly has called on the Kano State Government to construct a road linking Sarina Junction to Sarina town to improve residents’ living conditions.

The call followed the presentation of a motion by the member representing Garko Constituency, Engineer Murtala Muhammad Kadage.

Kadage said the proposed road would improve accessibility, ease transportation and boost the economic well-being of residents in the area.

The Assembly’s actions highlight efforts to expand health education infrastructure while addressing road connectivity and other development needs across the state.
