Management of the Kano State SERVICOM Directorate has conducted a surveillance exercise across selected Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) as part of efforts to strengthen compliance with service standards and institutionalise a culture of efficient, effective, timely, transparent and citizen-focused service delivery in the State.
The exercise was led by the Permanent Secretary of the Directorate, Hajjiya Hannatu Ado Gwaram, alongside Directors and other members of staff.
The team visited the Office of the Secretary to the State Government/Cabinet Office, Office of the Head of the Civil Service, Ministry of Information and Internal Affairs, Civil Service Commission, Audit, Bureau of Statistics and Ministry of Works.
The surveillance focused on staff punctuality, commitment to duty, responsiveness, adherence to service standards and the general quality of services provided to members of the public.
At the Ministry of Information and Internal Affairs, the SERVICOM team particularly commended the Ministry’s Staff Officer for his punctuality, hard work and commitment to duty, describing his conduct as a positive example of professionalism in public service.
At the Ministry of Works, the team met with the Commissioner, Engineer Marwan Ahmad, and the Director of Administration and General Services (DAGS), where discussions centred on improving service delivery.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to review the ongoing project at the SERVICOM Directorate’s premises and explore ways of fast-tracking its completion.
The Permanent Secretary, Hajjiya Hannatu Ado Gwaram, reiterated the Directorate’s commitment to working with all MDAs to improve service standards, strengthen accountability and ensure that citizens receive public services in a timely, transparent and professional manner.
The Directorate appreciates the cooperation of the visited MDAs and calls on all public servants to remain punctual, dedicated and responsive in the discharge of their responsibilities.
