Commissioner for Land and Physical Planning, Abduljabbar M. Umar, has announced a program to sponsor 500 students for a three-year National Certificate in Education (NCE) at Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education, Kano.
The initiative will benefit students from all 44 local governments in the state, supporting the educational goals of the current administration.
At an event held Sunday in Kano, organized by the Friends of Governor Abba K. Yusuf, Umar highlighted the importance of education for sustainable development.
“We are here today not just to sponsor 500 students but to show our commitment to strengthening education in Kano State,” Umar remarked.
Umar acknowledged the recent declaration of a “State of Emergency” on education in Kano. “Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has prioritized education, and we are here to support that goal,” he said. “Education is essential to our state’s future.”
Calling on community members and other stakeholders, Umar urged efforts to support the state’s education system.
“The progress we envision requires everyone’s contribution. I encourage every citizen to support education in any way they can, whether through mentoring, funding, or creating learning opportunities,” he added.
The sponsored students are expected to begin their studies at Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education in the coming academic year.
