Nigerian comedian cum Nigerian politicians have come under fire from Nollywood actor Debo Adebayo, better known by his stage name Mr. Macaroni, who claims that they don’t appreciate Nigerians.
According to Naija News, Macaroni’s remarks coincide with the online backlash following Alexander Mascot Ikwechegh, an Abia State representative in the House of Representatives, threatening to make a Bolt driver vanish and boasting that he would not be held accountable.
In addition, Ikwechegh threatened to imprison the driver in his generator house and beat him up.
Mr. Macaroni claimed in a post on his X handle that politicians don’t care about Nigerians since they have never been answerable to the people.
The movie star also brought up Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory’s (FCT) minister, who had last week questioned the sanity of some Nigerians while addressing them.
He wrote, “Nigerian politicians lack regard for Nigerians, and this is because they have never been accountable to the people.
When speaking to several Nigerians the other day, the FCT Minister asked, “Are you stupid? Is it because I came down to talk to you?”
“You work for the government!
“Is it because I came down to talk to you?” What do you mean by that?
“You’re speaking with the people who give you your wage! Your service to the public is the reason behind any advantages your position grants you! People are what you work for, not the other way around. There is no place for arrogance in public office!
“Nigeria is not a business. It is your responsibility to serve! No one has you as their chairman.
Therefore, please remind Nigerian politicians that they are speaking to the people the next time they address them.
