The Kano State Ministry of Education has officially announced the resumption dates for the third term of the 2025/2026 academic session for all public, private, and voluntary primary and secondary schools across the state.
According to a statement issued on Friday by the Director of Public Enlightenment, Musbahu Aminu Yakasai, on behalf of the Ministry, boarding students are expected to resume on Sunday, May 3, 2026, while day students will return to school on Monday, 4 May 2026.
The Ministry directed all school administrators to put in place necessary arrangements to ensure a smooth and orderly resumption.
This includes the preparedness of academic staff, readiness of boarding facilities, and availability of learning materials to support effective teaching and learning from the first day of the term.
The Commissioner for Education, Ali Haruna Abubakar Makoda, urged parents and guardians to ensure that their children and wards return to school promptly in line with the approved schedule.
He noted that adherence to the resumption dates is crucial to maintaining the academic calendar and enabling students to fully benefit from the term’s instructional period.
Makoda also charged schools to uphold high academic standards and maintain a safe, secure, and conducive learning environment for all students.
He wished students, teachers, and school administrators a successful and productive third term.
