Ododo Swears-in Local Government Chairmen in Kogi

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has sworn in the newly elected Local Government Chairmen.

He performed the ceremony at the Government House on Monday.

This follows their confirmation as winners of the 19 October 2024 local government election by the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC).

Stallion Times reports that the All Progressives Congress (APC) won all 21 chairmanship seats of the local government councils.

Governor Ododo charged the newly elected Chairmen to champion development at the grassroots for the betterment of the people.

While addressing the Chairmen, he reiterated his commitment to good governance at the grassroots and an advocate for local government autonomy.

Ododo said his administration will ensure the third-tier work to bring governance closer to the people as a beneficiary of a free and fair election.
