Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has said that the recent collective devotion to Almighty God for unity, peace, and prosperity in Kano State is already yielding positive results.

This was contained in a statement signed by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa on Sunday

The Governor cited the attendance of the Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, at state programmes as a clear sign of the growing harmony among political leaders in the state.

Governor Yusuf made the remarks during the second special prayer session and Qur’anic recitation where 4,444 reciters gathered at the Government House in Kano on Saturday.

He expressed confidence that, following the fervent prayers offered by the reciters, the Kano Emirate tussle would soon be resolved amicably in a way that would satisfy all parties involved.

The Governor pledged to do everything within his power to unite Kano politicians, urging them to avoid do-or-die politics and instead embrace mutual respect and understanding.

Governor Yusuf also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to eradicating thuggery in the state, lamenting that youths involved in such acts are sons of the soil who should be contributing positively to Kano’s development.

He assured residents that his government would continue to execute projects that have direct and positive impact on the lives of the people.

The Governor commended the Qur’anic reciters for dedicating their time and energy to pray for the progress and stability of the state.

In his remarks, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin praised Governor Yusuf’s foresight in initiating the unity prayer programme.

He urged other states across the country to emulate Kano by organizing similar prayer sessions to promote lasting peace and national cohesion.

Earlier, the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, called on residents to remain steadfast in prayers for the continued progress of Kano State and Nigeria at large.
