Hadejia Emirate Distributes N22.8m Zakat to Needy in Malam Madori District

Over N22.8 million worth of Zakat has been distributed to vulnerable residents of Malam Madori District in Jigawa State, providing much-needed support to deserving beneficiaries in the community.

The Zakat distribution was carried out by the Hadejia Emirate Zakat Committee under the leadership of its Chairman, Barrister AbdulFatah Abdulwahab Taheer (Talban Hadejia).

The exercise was represented by the Wakilin Yan’kasuwa, Muhammad Garba Dankundi, who led the committee’s tour across various districts in the emirate.

Speaking during the exercise, the Secretary of the Zakat Committee, Engineer Ismail Garba Barde, disclosed that foodstuffs, domestic animals, and cash amounting to N22,800,370 were distributed to the needy in the district.

He listed the items distributed to include 79 bags of rice, one bag of sesame (40kg), 65 bags of millet, 263 bundles of millet and 209 mudus, 386 bags of guinea corn, 274 bundles and 730 mudus, one goat, two cows, as well as N78,970 in cash.

In his sermon, Dr. Umar Nasarawa urged wealthy individuals to continue giving out Zakat as one of the five pillars of Islam, emphasizing that supporting the needy attracts divine blessings and increases wealth.

The District Head of Malam Madori, Dokajen Hadejia, Muhammad Saleh Kuliya, commended the Hadejia Emirate Zakat Committee for its dedication and commitment to ensuring the proper distribution of Zakat across the emirate.
