The State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, Commandant Mohammed Hassan Agalama, has received the leadership of the Kano chapter of the Igala Community Development Association (ICDA) during a courtesy visit aimed at strengthening cooperation and peaceful coexistence among ethnic groups in the state.
SC Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi, the Command’s spokesperson, in a statement on Tuesday, said the visit was designed to foster stronger ties and enhance collaboration between the Igala community and the NSCDC, with a focus on promoting unity, peace, and security across Kano State.
Speaking during the visit, the ICDA delegation, led by Ali Muhammad alongside the Onu of the Igala Community in Kano, Yakubu Okolo, commended the NSCDC for its significant contributions to security, both in Kano State and nationwide.
They acknowledged the Corps’ vital role in Nigeria’s security architecture and wished Commandant Agalama greater success in office.
The delegation also praised the Kano State Command of the NSCDC for its efforts in mediating and resolving communal disputes, as well as for ensuring the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure within the state.
In his response, Commandant Agalama warmly welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining peace and tranquility in Kano State.
He expressed appreciation for the visit and the prayers offered, while reiterating the Corps’ dedication to professionalism, ethical conduct, and effective service delivery in the discharge of its responsibilities.
