The Director General (DG) National Productivity Center (NPC) on behalf of Women Lawyers Congress has received with shock the passing of Barrister Maryam Abubakar, Director of Program, Centre for Awareness on Justice and Accountability (CAJA) also Member of Women Lawyers Congress ( WLC) Her death is a great loss not only to her family but also to the legal profession and the entire civil society community.

The condolence message was contained in a statement signed on Tuesday by the DG NPC, Dr. Baffa Babba Dan Agundi, on behalf of the Women Lawyers Congress

He said the late Barrister Maryam was a committed legal practitioner and a passionate advocate of justice, accountability, and women’s rights, and she made more contributions to the Women Lawyers Congress.

He Explained that her dedication to the promotion of the rule of law, social justice, and good governance distinguished her as a woman of integrity and service, whose contributions will be greatly missed.

“On behalf of the Women Lawyers Congress and all Support Groups, we wish to extend heartfelt condolences to the management and staff of the Centre for Awareness on Justice and Accountability (CAJA), the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), the Nigeria Bar Association, Kano and Ungogo Branch, and the family of the deceased.

This is indeed a painful loss that has created a vacuum that will be difficult to fill.
