The Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KSCHMA) has concluded its 2025 Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Day activities with a courtesy visit by its Executive Secretary, Dr. Rahila Aliyu Muktar, to the Kano State Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa.

The visit served as an opportunity to brief the state’s leadership on KSCHMA’s UHC Day programs, key achievements, and ongoing efforts to expand equitable and accessible healthcare services across Kano State.

During the meeting, Dr. Muktar highlighted major activities carried out to mark the 2025 UHC Day. These included a humanitarian outreach to the Nassarawa Children’s Home, where residents were provided with protective clothing to cushion the effects of the harmattan season.

She also reported on targeted support for persons living with sickle cell anaemia, who received protective clothing, fortified “grill powder” to enhance nutritional and therapeutic care, as well as immediate enrolment into the AbbaCare Program.

Through this on-the-spot enrolment, beneficiaries now have access to comprehensive healthcare services, including specialist treatment, routine follow-ups, and emergency care.

The Executive Secretary explained that the interventions were aimed at strengthening equity, social protection, and health security for vulnerable populations, in line with KSCHMA’s mandate and Kano State’s drive toward achieving Universal Health Coverage.

She stressed that sustainable healthcare delivery depends on strong collaboration among government institutions, community-based organizations, and civil society partners.

In his response, the Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa, praised KSCHMA for its proactive and humane approach to healthcare delivery, particularly its focus on children and individuals living with chronic conditions such as sickle cell anaemia.

He called for sustained collaboration and strategic engagement between the Agency, state institutions, and community stakeholders to further improve healthcare access and service delivery in the state.

The courtesy visit marked the formal conclusion of KSCHMA’s 2025 UHC Day activities, underscoring the Agency’s commitment to holistic healthcare delivery, social responsibility, and partnership with state leadership.

KSCHMA reaffirmed its dedication to improving the health and well-being of all residents and ensuring that no one is left behind on the path to Universal Health Coverage.
