The Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has confirmed the registration of 2,235 intending pilgrims ahead of the 2026 Hajj exercise, with firm assurances that every qualified individual will be successfully airlifted for the sacred journey.
Speaking in an interview with Stallion Times on Monday at the Agency’s Secretariat in Sokoto, the Executive Chairman, Ali Musa, said preparations are already in top gear to ensure seamless coordination and a hitch free Hajj operation.
He emphasized that no registered pilgrim would be sidelined, adding that the Agency is working closely with all relevant stakeholders to guarantee smooth processing, proper orientation and efficient welfare arrangements.
Musa noted that Sokoto has maintained an excellent record in Hajj administration and expressed confidence that the 2026 exercise would be even more organized and successful.
He further called on intending pilgrims to remain patient and comply with all necessary guidelines as the Agency continues fine-tuning logistics.
He assured that transportation, accommodation, feeding and other welfare components would be adequately provided to ensure pilgrims perform their religious rites with comfort and dignity.
According to him, the Agency has already set deadlines, operational frameworks and monitoring mechanisms to meet required standards and avoid any challenges associated with large scale pilgrim movement.
The Chairman added that the registration figure reflects strong public interest and growing confidence in the Agency, while reiterating that not a single registered pilgrim will be left behind.
