The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) says the country consumed an average of 56.74 million litres of petrol daily in October 2025, bringing total PMS consumption to 661.5 million litres between October 2024 and October 2025.

In its fact sheet released on Friday, the agency said 27.6 million litres of October’s consumption were imported, while 17.08 million litres came from local refining.

A total of 44.7 million litres were supplied to the market daily during the month.

The report showed that PMS consumption peaked in October 2025, followed by November 2024 with 56 million litres and April 2025 with 55.2 million litres.

On production, the NMDPRA noted that the Dangote Refinery supplied 18.03 million litres of PMS per day—below its planned 35 million-litre capacity.

The three NNPC-owned refineries recorded no output as Port Harcourt, Warri and Kaduna plants remained shut due to maintenance, safety issues, or ongoing rehabilitation.

The fact sheet also revealed October daily consumption of 17.13 million litres of diesel, 2.61 million litres of aviation fuel, and 6,095 metric tonnes of LPG.

NMDPRA said the verified data reflect improvements in domestic output, reduced import dependence and rising refining capacity utilisation, which stood at 61.58%.
