Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, on Monday laid before the Taraba State House of Assembly a N650.6 billion budget proposal for the 2026 fiscal year, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to boosting infrastructure, enhancing security, and investing in human capital development.

The proposed 2026 Appropriation Bill, tagged “Budget of Development We Can See,” totals N650,631,700,000, with a strong emphasis on capital projects aimed at delivering visible, measurable progress across the state.

Presenting the budget in Jalingo, Governor Kefas disclosed that N457,741,601,414, representing 70.36 percent of the total estimate, is earmarked for Capital Expenditure, while Recurrent Expenditure is projected at N192,890,098,586, or 29.64 percent.

He said the spending plan focuses on key sectors such as road construction, transportation, education, healthcare, agriculture, and economic empowerment, all tailored toward accelerating the state’s long-term development goals.

“This is a budget of tangible, measurable progress.

“Our objective is clear: to speed up infrastructural development and create economic opportunities that our people can see, feel, and benefit from,” Governor Kefas said.
