The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has debunked reports suggesting that its forthcoming National Convention has been postponed, insisting that the event will hold as scheduled in Ibadan, Oyo State, from Saturday, 15 to 16 November 2025.

A statement jointly issued by the National Publicity Secretary (PDP) and the Secretary of Publicity and Communication Sub Committee (NCOC), Hon. Debo Ologunagba, said the National Working Committee (NWC) and the 2025 National Convention Organizing Committee (NCOC), described the reports of postponement as “false and misleading,” urging members of the public to disregard them.

According to the statement, the PDP accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of sponsoring individuals to spread misinformation in a bid to disrupt the opposition’s convention.

“We are aware of the plots by the APC to destabilize the opposition and impose a one-party state in the country; a design that will be lawfully resisted,” the statement read.

The NWC and NCOC assured party members and supporters that all arrangements for the convention are in top gear, with delegates and leaders already arriving in Ibadan ahead of the two-day event.

“The Party will continue to work round the clock to ensure a successful National Convention as scheduled,” the statement added.

While expressing gratitude to Nigerians for their continued support, the PDP reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening democracy and providing credible alternatives to the current administration.
