Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has flagged off the disbursement of the first tranche of the state’s youth empowerment program aimed at supporting young entrepreneurs to start and expand their businesses.
This was contained in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Tuesday
Speaking at the launch ceremony, the governor said a total of 5,384 young men and women have each received N150,000, amounting to N800,700,000, as part of his administration’s commitment to improving the lives of young people in the state.
Governor Yusuf noted that the initiative was designed to help youths become active members of the business community and contribute to societal progress.
He urged the beneficiaries to make the best use of the funds to grow their ventures and secure a better future.
The Governor also appealed to those who are still on the waiting list to remain patient, assuring them that the second tranche of the program will be released soon.
He reaffirmed that his administration will continue to prioritize policies and programs that empower young people and create sustainable livelihoods across Kano State.
