The Commissioner of Police in Kano State, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, on Monday convened a meeting of supervising police officers to review the command’s crime-fighting efforts and strengthen security strategies across the state.

Speaking at the meeting, CP Bakori commended the officers for their dedication to maintaining law and order but urged them to intensify efforts as the year draws to a close, a period he described as critical for security operations.

According to a statement by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, CP Bakori stressed the need for professionalism and strict adherence to the rule of law, cautioning officers against meddling in civil cases such as land disputes.

He also warned against extortion and corrupt practices, noting that such conduct erodes public trust in the police.

“We must remain vigilant, proactive, and committed to protecting human rights while ensuring the safety of lives and property in Kano State,” CP Bakori added.

In a related development, the command, in partnership with the Kano State Accountability Forum on Education (K-SAFE), organized a lecture on school safety for officers.

The lecture, delivered by Dr. Auwal Halilu of Bayero University Kano, focused on safeguarding schools, protecting students and teachers, and securing educational facilities.

The initiative, according to the police, aims to enhance officers’ capacity to protect schools and promote safe learning environments.

The command expressed appreciation for K-SAFE’s collaboration and pledged to work with stakeholders to tackle security challenges in the state.
