On Thursday, the Chairman of Buji Local Government, Hon. Najib Falalu Tukur, announced plans to recruit 40 new vigilantes to strengthen security operations in the area.
He disclosed while receiving the Commander of the State Vigilante Security Force in his office, noting that allowances for vigilantes will be improved as the local economy grows.
Tukur also commended the security outfit for its efforts in safeguarding the community.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Umar Salisu, expressed appreciation for the chairman’s continuous support for the vigilantes and appealed for vehicles to enhance patrols across the 10 wards of Buji Local Government.
