Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, on Saturday, commissioned a series of developmental projects executed by Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Ali, Deputy Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, in Ankpa.
The projects, ranging from erosion control systems and educational facilities to solar-powered boreholes and roads, reflect the administration’s drive toward sustainable infrastructure and inclusive growth.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Governor Ododo emphasized that the projects would significantly enhance mobility, improve sanitation, and affirm the principle that development is a right, not a privilege.
He praised Hon. Ali for his dedication to the people of Ankpa and underscored the importance of the ACReSAL (Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes) initiative in tackling pressing challenges across the environment, healthcare, infrastructure, and security.
Highlighting ACReSAL’s achievements in Ankpa, the governor noted key milestones, including the construction of 21 culverts across four major gully erosion sites, installation of 332 pedestrian culverts and 417 vehicular slabs, completion of a 22-kilometer drainage network, and development of 11.5 kilometers of new road infrastructure
Governor Ododo called on the people of Kogi to embrace unity and cooperation, stressing that collective progress depends on shared commitment and harmony.
He expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his steadfast support of Kogi’s development agenda and pledged the state’s full backing in the 2027 general elections.
Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Ali lauded Governor Ododo’s visionary leadership, noting his administration’s dedication to improving the lives of citizens, particularly in rural communities like Ankpa.
The Governor was accompanied by Deputy Governor Comrade Joel Salifu and other top government officials during the inspection and commissioning of the projects.
The newly commissioned works and the ongoing ACReSAL interventions stand as clear evidence of the Ododo administration’s mission to deliver progress and prosperity to every corner of Kogi State.
