Kano State Government has approved over N2 billion for the payment of compensation to communities affected by the Kabuga to Dayi Federal Road Project.

The affected communities include those in Ungoggo, Rimin Gado, Tofa, Kabo, and Gwarzo Local Government Areas, respectively.

The State Commissioner for Special Duties, Rt. Hon. Amb. Nasiru Sule Garo, while briefing residents of Ungoggo, Tofa, Rimin Gado, Kabo, and Gwarzo communities, said the initiative demonstrates the government’s commitment to ensuring fair treatment and support for its citizens, particularly those affected by development projects.

The compensation payment process aims to provide relief and succor to the affected individuals and communities living in the area.

Garo further said the governor has since graciously approved and released over two billion naira for the compensation exercise to people from those five local government areas.

The Commissioner urged all eligible individuals that are yet to receive their payments to approach the Ministry of Land and Physical Planning with relevant documents for verification and payment of their compensation.

“Adequate measures and strategies have been put in place to ensure a smooth and transparent payment process,” he added.
