Sokoto Witnesses Another Market Fire Outbreak at Kara Market

Editor

Musa Na Allah, Sokoto

Sokoto state on Saturday witnessed another Fire outbreak at the state-popular Kara Market housing grains and other food stuffs.

The fire started in the early hours and engulfed the entire Market, reducing several grains shades and shops to ashes.

Though the cause of the fire incident is yet to be known, members of the State Fire Service Department are currently busy to bring it under control.

As of the time of writing this report, occupants of shops and houses close to the market are busy moving out their belongings for fear of the spread of the inferno.

Efforts to speak to the General Manager of the Market proved impossible as he was visibly seen running helter-skelter to ensure that men of the underworld did not take advantage of the situation to loot.

The blaze is still razing shops despite efforts to contain its spread to residential areas, security personnel were seen at strategic places in the market to prevent looters and other men of the underworld from taking advantage of the situation.
