Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, has officially flagged off an 8.4-kilometre road in Suru Local Government Area.
Flagging off the road on Friday, the Kebbi State Governor said that approval for the construction of the road was meant to ease the movement of goods and people from one place to another.
“This project is approved based on the economic benefits as well as the importance attached to the road.
“My administration decided to approve the construction of the road to boost the economy of the state,” he said.
Governor Idris added that the road started from Mashaya to Zankkuwa links to Keji village in Suru local government.
Gov. Idris commended the company handling the project for their foresight in mobilizing its workers and equipment to the site.
“I knew what you people can do, you people have been executing meaningful projects in the state and that’s why I have decided to award the contract to you people through (RAAMP),” he added.
In his remarks, the member of the House of Representatives, representing Bagudo and Suru Federal Constituency, Hon. Bello Ka’oje, thanked the governor for extending dividends of democracy to the masses, especially at the grassroots levels.
Also speaking, the Project Engineer, Focus Soft Multi Trade & Construction Company Ltd., Eng. Murtala Mohammed Ganda MNSE, said that the project has 11 months completion period.
He said the road had almost 26 culverts to be constructed, and 14 had been completed while assuring the government that the project would be completed according to the stipulated time and with quality delivery.
