Governor Yusuf Unveils Fagge Legislator’s Empowerment Scheme

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has unveiled an empowerment scheme initiated by a House of Representatives member representing Fagge constituency, Barr. Muhammad Bello Shehu.

The Empowerment event was held at Coronation Hall, Government House, Kano.

Governor Yusuf commended the member for his tireless efforts of empowering teeming youth in his constituency, a move that will bolster the economic status of the beneficiaries and uplift the socioeconomic position of the state.

The Governor spoke at length about his administration’s effort to revive all the 26 entrepreneurship skills institutes in the state abandoned by the immediate past administration aimed at making youth self-reliant and reducing dependency on white-collar jobs.

He acknowledged the contributions of Fagge residents in running the present government and pledged more opportunities for them in that direction.

In his presentation, Barr.  Shehu said the empowerment project was part of fulfilling the campaign promises made to the electorates of his constituency. The scheme targeted 3000 beneficiaries from ten wards of the local government.

He urged the beneficiaries to judiciously utilize what was given to them to achieve the set goals.

In his remarks, Former Commissioner of Finance and current Chairman of Kano State Local Government Service Commission, Dr. Ibrahim Jibril Fagge assured the support of the people of the area to Governor Yusuf’s administration.

The empowerment scheme comprises N50,000 as start-up capital for 1500 people, five cars, 100 motorcycles, 100 modern embroidery machines,100 mechanic tools, and 100 Freezers.

Other types of equipment include 250 mechanic boxes, six laptop computers, two photo cameras, 50 generators, 50 welding machines, 22 Offers of appointment at Federal University, Dutsinma, and recruitment into Nigeria Police (28 slots), and Nigerian Navy (1 slot).

People with Disabilities also benefited from the empowerment scheme.
