Senate President, Godswill Akpabio empowered paramount rulers from Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial District and benefited from the phase 1 constituency program held at the Ikot Ekpene Township Stadium on Monday.

The royal fathers of the 10 local government areas in the senatorial district got brand new Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs).

Senator Akpabio reiterated his commitment to the traditional institution, demonstrating his respect and appreciation for its vital role in the community.

He acknowledged the importance of the traditional rulers in maintaining peace, stability, and cultural heritage in their respective domains.

According to him, traditional rulers will always benefit from his representation in the Senate.

He recalled that their kind gesture dates back to when he was a Commissioner in Akwa Ibom State and later during his tenure as Governor.

During the event, Akpabio also empowered his constituents with business funds, and various items, including cars, buses, tricycle pick-ups, farm tricycles, tricycle keke, vulcanizing machines, knapsacks, makeup kits, deep freezers, generators, grinding machines, motorcycles, computers, and mini hand tractors.

These items are expected to boost economic activities, improve livelihoods, and enhance the overall well-being of the beneficiaries.

The program was graced by Senators and other members of the political class, traditional rulers, religious leaders, women groups, and youth groups, who came to show their support for the Senate President.
