The Honourable Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, has disclosed that he received a courtesy visit from a prominent writers’ group reaffirming its support for the administration of the Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf.
The visit, which took place on Monday, 16 March 2026, was led by Abubakar Sani, a renowned writer and leader of the group Mawallafan Abba Gida Gida, formerly known as Mawallafan Kwankwasiyya.
According to Comrade Waiya, the delegation used the occasion to express their renewed loyalty and commitment to the present administration, citing the governor’s record of good governance and his people-centered leadership style.
They particularly commended the “Kano First” agenda, which they described as a policy focused on prioritizing the overall interest of the state above personal considerations.
In recognition of these efforts, the group presented Governor Yusuf with an award titled “Leader of Building a New Kano.”
The Writers’ Group noted that the honour was in appreciation of initiatives that promote public awareness and encourage citizens to place the development of Kano State above individual interests.
Responding, the Commissioner expressed gratitude for the visit and described the gesture as a strong vote of confidence in the administration.
He reaffirmed his unwavering support for the governor and commended the group for its role in mobilizing public support for government policies.
Comrade Waiya further urged the writers to sustain their contributions toward the growth and development of Kano State, assuring them of the government’s continued support both collectively and individually.
