Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, and Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, met in Port Harcourt on Saturday in what appears to be a significant reconciliation move among key political figures in the state.

The meeting, attended by prominent stakeholders including Chief Ferdinand Alabraba, Chairman of the Rivers State Elders Council, and Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Martins Amaewhule, comes two weeks after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu lifted the political emergency in the state.

In a statement issued on Sunday by Lere Olayinka, the FCT Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, it was noted that the gathering signified a return to unity within the state’s political family.

“The Political Family is fully united,” the statement read, underscoring what observers describe as a breakthrough in efforts to restore peace and stability to Rivers State’s political scene.
