Unguwar Gano District Head Appoints 41 Leaders Across Key Community Sectors

The Village Head of Unguwar Gano in Tarauni Local Government Area, Alhaji Mansur Abdullahi, has conferred 41 traditional titles during a ceremony held at his palace in Unguwar Gano.

The event was aimed at strengthening the traditional institution and promoting community development.

While presenting the titles, Mansur Abdullahi said the honours were bestowed on individuals who have shown dedication to the progress and welfare of the community.

The District Head noted that the newly conferred titles cut across key sectors essential to community growth, emphasizing that the gesture is meant to deepen unity, promote peace, and encourage greater contributions to the development of Unguwar Gano.

Some of the titles conferred include Sarkin Kasuwa (Market Leader) – Umar Salisu Dankoli; Sarkin Dawa (Herbs Leader) – Jibirin Sani; Sarkin Aska (Blacksmith Leader) – Rabiu Sani; Sarkin Fawa (Butchers’ Leader) – Umar Muhammad Change.

Others are Sarkin Dilallai (Brokers’ Leader) – Sumaila Yakubu Baso; Sarkin Kira (Mobilizers’ Leader) – Abdulmalik Muhammad, and Sarkin Noma (Farming Leader) – Saidu Ismaila Gidan Rimi.

Senior honorary titles were also awarded to prominent personalities, including Wambai Sunusi Mansur, Tafida Aliyu Mansur, Sarkin Fada Muhammad Ibrahim Garko, Turaki Yusuf Mansur, and Galadima Alhaji Mu’azu Abdullahi, among others.

Alhaji Abdullahi urged the titleholders to use their positions to promote development, sustain peace, and foster unity across the community.

Representing the Hakimi of Darmanawa District, Alhaji Mujitaba Abba Abubakar, Mukaddas Mallam Karibu, advised the new titleholders to uphold honesty, fairness, and integrity in their responsibilities.

Similarly, the Councillor of Unguwar Gano Ward, Usman Tuhami Baffa; the Senior Special Adviser to the Governor on Community Development, Dr. Ibrahim Garba; and the Councillor for Agriculture in Tarauni LGA, Mubarak Umar Faruk, pledged their support to the District Head to ensure the continued development of the traditional institution.

The ceremony drew notable personalities, including Ajiyan Arewa, Alhaji Musa B. Garko, Dan Adalan Karaye, community elders, leaders, and residents from various parts of Tarauni Local Government Area.
