The Executive Secretary of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Aisha Dahiru Garba, has stressed the importance of effective collaboration, innovation, and strategic planning in enhancing the delivery of basic education across Nigeria.

Speaking at the KADA EduPact International Summit in Kaduna, Garba reaffirmed UBEC’s commitment to building an inclusive and sustainable education system that empowers learners, improves outcomes, and ensures no child is left behind.

She highlighted the commission’s ongoing partnership with the Kaduna State Government as a model of collaborative progress, noting the state’s achievements in expanding access to education and reducing the number of out-of-school children.

Garba praised the Kaduna governor’s leadership in ensuring more vulnerable children are enrolled and receiving quality education, while also pointing to nationwide reforms by UBEC aimed at making its interventions more effective and responsive.

“These reforms include curriculum renewal, teacher capacity development, stronger accountability mechanisms, and integrating technology into teaching and learning,” she said.

Garba emphasized that UBEC’s work is focused on meeting national priorities while adapting to local realities, adding: “Through continued collaboration with state governments and stakeholders, UBEC aims to ensure the promise of basic education reaches every Nigerian child.”
