On Monday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu commissioned a newly constructed 15-kilometer road linking the Abuja/Lokoja Expressway (A2) to Pai community in Kwali Area Council of the FCT.

The President described the project as a major step toward unlocking rural potential, improving livelihoods, and enhancing agricultural opportunities.

President Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to rural development, noting that the road will support farmers and herders while reducing conflicts and promoting prosperity.

He praised FCT Minister Barrister Nyesom Wike—whom he dubbed “Mr. Project,” for prioritizing infrastructure in both urban and rural areas.

Minister Wike revealed that over 150 kilometers of rural roads have been completed or are under construction across the FCT since President Tinubu took office in May 2023.

He detailed ongoing and planned projects, including additional links to Gomani and Yangoji, bringing the total Pai area network to about 45 kilometers.

Other completed roads span all six FCT Area Councils, including Paikon Kore/Ibwa, Gaba/Tokulo, and Saburi I and II, among others.

Upcoming projects for 2025 include dual carriageways and market-access roads aimed at boosting security, agriculture, and commerce.

The Minister of State, FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, and Satellite Town Development Coordinator, Hon. Abdulkadir Zulkiflu, commended the President and Minister Wike for championing grassroots development.

Community leaders, including the Sarkin Pai, also expressed gratitude, highlighting the transformative impact of the road.

The contractor, Zeberced Construction Ltd, celebrated the project’s timely completion and pledged continued investment in Nigeria.
