The Chairman of the Shura Council of the Tijjaniyya Sect, Sheikh Sani Shehu Maihula, has declared the support of the Islamic group for the re-election of Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf.
This was contained in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesman Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa on Friday.
Sheikh Sani Shehu Maihula made the declaration during the annual Zikr and national prayer organised by the Tijjaniyya Sect at the Kano Emir’s Palace while delivering the welcome address through his brother and the spokesman of the Tijjaniyya council Shiek Ibrahim Shehi Maihula (Shehi Shehi).
According to him, members of the Tijjaniyya Shura Council have unanimously resolved to support Governor Yusuf’s second-term bid in recognition of his commitment to good governance, promotion of Islamic values, and people-oriented policies.
The Islamic scholar commended the governor for his continued support to religious activities, education, healthcare, infrastructure development and social welfare programmes across Kano State.
Responding, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf expressed appreciation to the leadership and members of the Tijjaniyya Shura Council for their prayers, confidence and endorsement.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to serving the people of Kano with sincerity, justice and fear of Allah, pledging to sustain policies and programmes that improve the lives of citizens.
He also thanked religious leaders across the state for their unwavering prayers and guidance, describing them as critical partners in promoting peace, unity and development in Kano State.
