Tarauni LG Targets 92,765 Children in New Polio Immunization Drive

The Chairman of Tarauni Local Government, Ahmed Ibrahim Muhammad Sekure, has disclosed that no fewer than 92,765 children are expected to receive the oral polio vaccine in the ongoing immunization round.

He made the announcement during the official flag-off ceremony held at the Clinic Area in Allu Ward.

According to the LG Information Officer, Adamu Iliyasu Hotoro, the Chairman reiterated the critical importance of routine immunization for children under five, including newborns.

He stressed that the local government remains committed to ensuring the vaccine reaches every household so that no child is left behind in the fight against polio.

Sekure urged parents and caregivers to fully cooperate with vaccination teams to safeguard the health and well-being of their children.

He also extended appreciation to the Governor of Kano State, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Commissioner for Health, and health personnel in Tarauni for their tireless efforts in improving healthcare delivery.

The Head of Primary Healthcare in Tarauni, Muktar Datti Gwarzo, and the Health Educator, Musa Abdullahi Shamakawa, confirmed that the Chairman has provided adequate manpower and logistics to guarantee a smooth and successful exercise.

Similarly, the Councillor of Allu Ward, Ali Idris Ali (Kauyen Alu), and the District Head of Allu, Kabiru, pledged continuous support through sustained sensitization and mobilization of residents to ensure wide acceptance of the polio vaccination campaign across Tarauni LGA.
