SWAN Jigawa Chapter Elects New Executives

The Jigawa State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria has elected new executives to run the affairs of the Association in the next three years.

The Chairman of the Credentials Committee, comrade Musa Ahmad Gumel, said all the contestants won the election unopposed.

Comrade Gumel said the position of chairman went to Suleiman Isyaku Dambatta of Freedom Radio Dutse, Ibrahim Isyaku of Jigawa State Television vice chairman, Auwalu Muhammad of NTA Dutse as secretary and Adamu Malali of Horizon FM Dutse as Assistant Secretary.

Others are Nura Garba of Freedom Radio Dutse as treasurer, Fatima Muhammad of Fa’ida FM Radio Malamadori as Financial Secretary, and Ibrahim Sani Gidan Kwari to serve as Welfare Officer.

Immediately after declaring the result by the SWANECO Chairman at NUJ secretary Dutse in the capital city of Jigawa State Barrister Abdulkadir Lurwanu Fanini-led the swearing-in of the newly elected executives.

In his message, the National President of the Association, Comrade Benjamin Isiah read by the National Ex-Officio, Rilwanu Idris Malikawa Garu congratulated the new executives and urged them to come up with new policies and programs that would promote Sports journalism in Jigawa State.

The President expressed delight at the maturity of SWAN members in the state before, during, and after the election and urged them to sustain the tempo.

Responding to the newly elected Chairman, Suleiman Isyaku Dambatta, promised to come up with a training program for their members, giving priority to their welfare and ensuring that before the end of their tenure, they would ensure that they secure a permanent Secretariat in Dutse.
