Super Falcons midfielder, Christy Ucheibe, has joined Saudi Women’s Premier League side Al Hilal on a two-year contract.
The 25-year-old midfielder becomes the latest high-profile addition to the Riyadh-based club as it strengthens its squad ahead of the new season.
Ucheibe will reunite with fellow Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala at Al Hilal, adding further Nigerian representation to the Saudi club.
The versatile midfielder joins the Blue Waves after a successful six-year spell with Portuguese giants Benfica, where she established herself as a key member of the squad and helped the club secure several domestic honours.
Benfica confirmed Ucheibe’s departure in June, bringing an end to her impressive stint with the Portuguese champions.
Before moving to Europe, Ucheibe featured for Nasarawa Amazons, where she began building a reputation as one of Nigeria’s promising midfielders.
At international level, Ucheibe has become an important member of the Super Falcons and was part of the Nigerian squad that won the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Her move to Al Hilal marks a new chapter in her career and will see her experience Saudi Arabian football for the first time.
Ucheibe will now look to build on her success in Portugal and make an immediate impact as Al Hilal targets a strong campaign in the Saudi Women’s Premier League.
