Speed Darlington Mom Begs Burna Boy To Release Her Son

The mother of Nigerian musician Darlington Okoye, better known by his stage name Speed Darlington, Queen, has apparently gone missing. In an emotional plea to Grammy-winning musician Burna Boy, she is requesting her son’s release.
This comes after Darlington’s previous video regarding Burna Boy that went viral and seemed to cause a stir.
According to information given by Darlington’s security staff, Queen, who identified herself as Darlington’s mother, claimed in a heartfelt video that she was taken away from her son’s home by Burna Boy and his crew.

Greetings to all, I am Mrs. Queen, Darlington’s mother, also known as Speed Darlington. It was reported to me that my son had vanished. Our family was informed by his gateman that Burna Boy had visited with his crew and took Darlington from his home. Please, Darlington is my only son, my only child,” she said, visibly distressed.

Queen persisted in her pleading, asking Nigerians and her son’s supporters to assist in mediating. The distraught mother revealed that Darlington is her only child and that she is at a loss for words after the tragedy, and she has decided to ask for forgiveness.

“Everyone who supports Darlington ought to assist in pleading with Burna Boy.” Burna Boy, please, may mercy be mixed with justice. Please pardon Darlington; this is my biological mother. I am pleading because I am at a loss for words.

“I am a grandmother and a mother. Please pardon him; he is my only son. All I’m asking for is your pardon. Please, burna boy. Please pardon my son and set him free. Please assist me in pleading with Burna Boy for Darlington’s release, Darlington’s fans worldwide.

“Nigerians, please assist your son. I’m pleading, I’m on my knees pleading, please help me. I am at a loss for words; all I can do is plead with Burna Boy. I’m on my knees, Burna Boy, please,” she begged.

Speed Darlington, better known as Akpi, is currently being held by the Abuja police, according to confirmation from activist and lawyer Deji Adeyanju, as previously reported by Naija News.

Adeyanju claims that Darlington was taken into custody in Lagos on Friday and then sent to Abuja. Burna Boy allegedly filed a complaint, which led to the arrest, however more information about the incident is still pending.
